Little Crater Campground
Little Crater Campground is along the eastern shore of 1,531-acre Paulina Lake, part of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, south of Bend. The 5-mile-diameter Newberry Caldera encircles both Paulina Lake and its neighbor, East Lake. Motorized and non-motorized boats are permitted on the lake, however there is a 10 MPH speed limit. A boat launch ramp and dock are located within Little Crater Campground. Anglers fish the lake for rainbow trout, brown trout and Kokanee salmon. A hiking trail around the lake connects to other trails in the area.
Little Crater Campground has 49 campsites spread along the shore with no site more than a short walk from the water's edge. Campers enjoy beautiful views of the lake and gorgeous sunsets over the water. All the campsites can accommodate tents, RVs, or trailers. There are no hook-ups. Reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night must be for at least 2 nights; holiday weekend reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night require a 3-night stay.
