Horseshoe Bend Campground and its companion, Deer Flat Group Campground, are at a sharp bend in the North Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest. The pair of campgrounds are off Highway 138, 46 miles east of Roseburg. Visitors to the area enjoy rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing. Anglers should check Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations regarding the North Umpqua River.
Horseshoe Bend Campground offers 23 campsites shaded by stand of mature Douglas fir and sugar pine and guarded on three sides by the river. Most sites have an occupancy of 6, but nine can accommodate up to 8 people and one is designated for 10.
Reservations may be made for camping dates from late May through early September. Make reservations from 3 days up to 6 months in advance of your arrival date.
Campsites are first-come-first-served in early May and late September.
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.
