Island Campground sits along the North Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest. The campground is off Highway 138, 40 miles east of Roseburg. Visitors to the area enjoy whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and fly fishing. Anglers should check Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations regarding the North Umpqua River.

Island Campground is only a short drive from Steamboat Ball Field and Pavilion Group Site, making Island Campground a convenient and quiet satellite camping choice for those participating in events at the group site.

Island Campground has 7 campsites which can accommodate small RVs, trailers, and tents. Some of the campsites are close to the river and all have good shade. The campground has no potable water. All sites are first-come, first-served.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

  1. Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  2. Dogs must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  3. Campfires may only be in developed fire pits.
