Pioneer Ford Campground
Pioneer Ford Campground sits along the Metolius River in the Deschutes National Forest, 23 miles north of Sisters. The Metolius River is a popular catch-and-release fly fishing destination, although the fish have a reputation for being hard to catch. Hikers enjoy a number of trails through scenic terrain in the area. Road cycling and mountain biking are both popular up and down the river.
Pioneer Ford Campground has 20 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Two of those sites are for tents only. The campground is popular because many of the sites are well-suited for RV and trailer camping and offer plenty of privacy. Many are pull-though sites, and a good number are along the river. Campsites are spread through a forest of pine and cedar which provides good shade for all the sites. Reservations are available for many sites, while some campsites are first-come, fist-served.
