Point Campground

Point Campground is along the shore of Elk Lake in the Deschutes National Forest. Elk Lake is popular for all kinds of boating activities, including waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. A boat ramp is located in the campground. Wildlife abounds in the surrounding forests and wetlands. Views of Mt. Bachelor and South Sister are enjoyed from several locations around the lake.

Point Campground offers 9 restful campsites for RV, trailer, and tent camping. All of the sites are well shaded and well-separated. One site close to the water is a double. Another site has a pull-through driveway. Most sites can be reserved ahead of arrival while some may be available first-come, first-served.

Attractions near Point Campground:	Use the campground's boat launch ramp to get out on the water for fishing, water skiing, and sailing. Enjoy the Beach Picnic Area at the south end of the lake. A sandy beach makes it a popular swimming area. Set out on a hike from the nearby Six Lakes Trailhead. Take advantage of the amenities at Elk Lake Resort, including scenic cruises, pontoon boat rentals, and a bar and restaurant. General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Designated Accessible sites are reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate

Hike on the Metolius-Windigo Trail, open to hikers, bikers and horses, more than 100 miles in length.
Visit Newberry National Volcanic Monument, 54,000+ acres of lakes, lava flows, and spectacular geologic features such as the Newberry Caldera.
Tour the fascinating High Desert Museum, 5 minutes south of Bend.
Head over to the Blue River Reservoir for swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing.
Tour the Leaburg Fish Hatchery, 4 miles east of Leaburg. Open daily.
Play a round of golf at the Tokatee Golf Club in McKenzie Bridge.
Hike on the Hackleman Old Growth Trail west of Lost Prairie Group Campground.
Hike or mountain bike on the 26-mile McKenzie River National Recreation Trail.
Have a nice soak at Terwilliger Hot Springs by Cougar Reservoir. [May be closed due to 2018 Terwilliger Fire.]
Fly fish along the Metolius River (check local fishing regulations).
Visit the Camp Sherman Fish Viewing Platform by the Camp Sherman Store.
Hike up to the summit of Black Butte.
Spend days at Suttle Lake with boating, water skiing, and fishing.

Key Point Campground Regulations

Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times. Swimming areas are closed to animals.
Avoid problems with bears by securing food and scented items in a vehicle or other bear-proof locker.
Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
