Little Fawn Campground

Little Fawn Campground sits on the southeastern corner of Elk Lake in the Deschutes National Forest. Visitors to Elk Lake enjoy great boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. A number of interesting hiking trails lead out from the lake. Wonderful views of South Sister and Mt. Bachelor can be enjoyed at various points along the shore. A nice beach and a boat launch ramp are part of the day use area adjacent to the campground. Wildlife can often be seen in the surrounding woods, everything from porcupines to an occasional black bear.

Little Fawn Campground has 20 campsites for RV, trailer, and tent camping. All the sites are close to the water. While many sites may be reserved, a good number are kept available as first-come, first-served. Little Fawn Campground also has a Group Campsite.

Little Fawn Campground Location: From Bend, Oregon, drive about 35.5 miles west on County Road 46 (Cascade Lakes Hwy). Then turn onto Forest Road 4625 for 1.7 miles to the campground.

  • Enjoy the Beach Picnic Area at the south end of the lake. A sandy beach makes it a popular swimming area.
  • Set out on a hike from the Elk Lake Trailhead or the Six Lakes Trailhead.
  • Take advantage of the amenities at Elk Lake Resort, including scenic cruises, pontoon boat rentals, and a bar and restaurant.
  • Stop over at neighboring Hosmer Lake for fly fishing, kayaking, and bird watching.

Little Fawn Campground Group Campsite

Little Fawn Campground has one group campsite for up to 75 people and 20 vehicles. The group site is composed of 11 individual sites which combine to make the group site. A common area in the center serves as a group gathering spot. If not all 11 sites are needed by a group, the leftover sites may be made available as first-come, first-served sites.
Fee: $254 per night.

Key Little Fawn Campground Regulations

  1. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times. Swimming areas are closed to animals.
  2. Avoid problems with bears by securing food and scented items in a vehicle or other bear-proof locker.
  3. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  4. Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
  5. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
