Loon Lake Campground

Loon Lake is 31 miles southeast of Reedsport, south of Highway 38. The 260-acre lake is a popular destination for camping, fishing, boating, and water skiing. A sandy beach in the day-use area adjacent to the campground is a favorite for swimming. Also in the day-use area are a boat launch ramp and an accessible fishing dock. A short drive from the campground, Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort includes a marina with boat rentals.

Loon Lake Recreation Area, operated by the Bureau of Land Management, is situated at the north end of the lake. Loon Lake Campground has 38 campsites adjacent to the day-use area and near the beach. Campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Four group sites are simply double sites which can accommodate 12 people. Five campsites are walk-in, tent-only sites. Campsites are shaded by Douglas fir, red cedar, and western hemlock trees. A shortage of drinking water has been a problem at Loon Lake in recent years.
