Cottonwood Campground
Cottonwood Campground is in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, 30 miles northwest of Lakeview.
Nearby Cottonwood Meadows Lake is popular for non-motorized boats such as kayaks and canoes as well as electric-motor boats. Gas engine boats are not permitted on the lake. Boats are held to a 5 MPH speed limit. Fishing is excellent for brook and rainbow trout. The lake includes two day-use areas as well as a boat launch ramp. Nearby hiking trails wind around the lake and connect to other scenic routes.
Cottonwood Campground features 22 campsites, 4 of which are walk-in, tent-only sites. A single horse campsite includes a corral, hitching post, feeders, and trailer turn-around. Other sites can accommodate tents, RVs, and trailers ups to 35 feet. Mature ponderosa pines and aspens provide plenty of shade. All campsites are first-come, first-served.
