Acorn Woman Lakes Campground (formerly Squaw Lakes) campsites are scattered around the shores of Acorn Woman Lake and Little Acorn Woman Lake in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. All of the campsites are tent-only sites accessed by foot, some as far as a mile from the parking area, others as close as 150 feet. Visitors to the campground enjoy the solitude of the forest as well as the recreational opportunities around the lakes. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on the lakes. Fishing and hiking are popular with campers.
Acorn Woman Lakes Campground has 10 individual campsites as well as 5 Group Campsites. Drinking water comes from hand-pumps near campsite #2. Most of the campsites are along the water's edge. Campers are advised to check-in at the Applegate Lake General Store at Hart-Tish Park. There is a 2-night minimum camping period over weekends and on holidays. During the off-season from November through mid-May, camping is free, but there are no services.
Acorn Woman Lakes Campground Portage Service may be available from the Campground Host to assist campers in hauling their gear to their campsite. The host can haul gear in a small ATV trailer for $10 per trip. Be aware that the Campground Host may not always be available. Push Cart rentals are available when the camp host is on site for $5 per hour (plus $20 cash deposit).
