Sam Brown Campground
Sam Brown Campground draws family groups to its spacious camping area along Briggs Creek in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Nearby is the Sam Brown Horse Camp. Both camping areas are close to many trails for hiking and horseback riding, as well as being popular with motorcycle riders and mountain bikers. Wildlife is often sighted in the area. Watch especially for deer and elk.
Sam Brown Campground has 19 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. There are vault toilets, but there is no drinking water. All campsites are first-come, first served. Reach the campground via Merlin/Galcie Road off Interstate 5 north of Grants Pass. After 12 miles on Galcie Road, take Briggs Valley Road for 15 miles to Forest Road 2512. The narrow, winding road makes it unadvisable for large vehicles.
Sam Brown Horse Campground
Sam Brown Horse Campground is a short distance east of the main Sam Brown Campground. The Horse Camp has 5 campsites and 2 double campsites. Drinking water is available from hand pumps. Vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits are provided. All sites are first-come, first-served. A training corral is located near the campground. Each campsite has access to a corral for horses and areas for hobbling or high-lining.
Fee: $15 per campsite
