Black Canyon Campground rests along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River less than a mile upstream from Lookout Point Lake. Visitors enjoy the cool breeze, riverside views, and pleasant shade. An interpretive nature trail winds through the campground. Fishing and boating are available at Lookout Point Lake. Mountain bikers and horseback riders enjoy the Tire Mountain Trail while hikers take to the Clover Patch Trail.

Black Canyon Campground has 75 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Standard campsites can accommodate up to 6 people, 2 vehicles and 2 tents. Campsites are shaded by Douglas fir, hemlock, and cedar. There are also two Group Sites.

Black Canyon Campground has two areas designated for group camping. One site can accommodate up to 12 people and 2 vehicles (fee for 2nd vehicle). The other site will hold up to 30 people and 10 vehicles ($8 for each vehicle beyond 5).

  • Find many great mountain biking trails in the area: Willamette National Forest - Hardesty Trail Area.
  • Fish in the Middle Fork of the Willamette River around the campground.
  • Hike on the Middle Fork National Recreation Trail.

  • Tour the Oakridge Pioneer Museum in nearby Oakridge.

  1. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  2. Dogs must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  3. Campfires may only be in campground provided fire pits.
  4. Use of chainsaws is not permitted in the campground.
