Whiskey Springs Campground
Whiskey Springs Campground is a short distance from Willow Lake and 42 miles east of Medford. Whiskey Springs Pond, home to beavers, is adjacent to the campground. Visitors to nearby 927-acre Willow Lake enjoy wonderful fishing from shore and boat. A number of good hiking trails area nearby, including the Mt. McLoughlin Trail #3716, a 5-mile hike to the summit of the peak. A 1-mile interpretive loop trail is located within the campground. The campground is on the site of the original supply road (Old Military Road) for Fort Klamath.
Whiskey Springs Campground offers 34 campsites in a conifer forest. Seven of the sites are designated for tent camping only. The rest can accommodate RVs, trailers and tents. The sites are flat, making them appealing to RV owners and tent campers alike. Five of the sites are pull-throughs. Foliage provides good privacy between the campsites. The campground is within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and is operated by a concessionaire, Rogue Recreation.
Directions: Reach the campground by taking Highway 62 for 16 miles northeast from Medford. Then turn on the Butte Falls - Willow Lake Road, going another 16 miles through Butte Falls onto the Butte Falls - Fish Lake Rd. Watch for campground signs and turn onto Parker Meadows Road. The campground is clearly marked.
