Lockaby Campground

Lockaby Campground is along the Clackamas River in the Mt. Hood National Forest. For experienced whitewater rafters, the campground is a good base from which to enjoy the river. Winter steelhead, spring Chinook and late summer Coho salmon, along with other freshwater fish, draw anglers to the river. Nearby are good hiking trails.

Lockaby Campground has 30 campsites for tents or small RVs or trailers. Some sites are available first-come, first-served; but most can be reserved prior to arrival. A dense forest provides good shade.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

  • Rent a boat at nearby North Fork Reservoir at Get&Go Promontory Marina. They offer pontoon boats, fishing boats, row boats, kayaks, and jet skis.

  • Go on a whitewater rafting adventure on the Clackamas River with Blue Sky Rafting.
  • Explore local hiking trails.
  • Spend the day at Milo McIver State Park.

  1. Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  2. Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
  3. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
  4. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
