Susan Creek Campground
Susan Creek Campground sits in a beautiful setting of mature trees, some as great as 7 feet in diameter, along the North Umpqua River. Visitors to the campground enjoy rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, mountain biking, and swimming (when water levels are safe). A number of accessible trails lead out from the campground, winding through the lush forest providing views of wildlife such as deer and osprey. Nearby is a day-use area at Susan Creek Falls.
Susan Creek Campground has 29 campsites arranged in a single loop. Thirteen of the sites can be reserved from mid-May through mid-September. The other 16 campsites are first-come, first-served. Some of the campsites are equipped with nice wooden benches complete with back rests. Many sites offer good privacy. The quality of the facilities at Susan Creek set it apart from other campgrounds in the area. Many campground features from campsites to trails are accessible. An amphitheater in the campground is where BLM staff present educational programs on weekend evenings in the summer.
